Current legislation defines a person with a disability, or Passenger with Reduced Mobility (PRM), as “any person whose mobility to use transport is reduced due to physical disability (sensory or locomotor, permanent or temporary), intellectual disability or handicap, or any other cause of disability, or age, and whose situation requires adequate attention and adaptation of the service made available to other passengers to their particular needs” (art. 2 a) Regulation EC 1107/06).
For flights to/from the USA, passengers may obtain a copy of the applicable regulation regarding non-discrimination on the basis of disability in air travel - Part 382 (14 C.F.R) - from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) website, or by contacting the DOT directly in writing or by phone https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/disabilitybillofrights
Will be accepted free of charge. If you want to use your own wheelchair to get to the flight gate, contact our airport staff to organise the service, both at the departure and arrival airports.
We can only process your request if you do it up to 3 business days before flight departure.
If you need further information, call us at 900 92 40 40, if calling from Spain, or (+34) 91 00 03 831 if calling from outside Spain, from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm (CET).
World2Fly does not accept wheelchairs or mobility aids equipped with wet batteries that can spill.
The carriage of small vehicles powered by lithium batteries is not allowed, neither as checked baggage, nor as hand baggage. The following objects are NOT considered mobility aids. Some examples are airwheels, solowheels, hoverboards, mini-segways, balance wheels, etc.
Some disabilities, conditions or chronic illnesses are not immediately obvious and visible to others. This can make it difficult to understand that someone with a "non-visible" condition needs support.
We understand that having a hidden disability can make travel a more daunting and difficult experience. That's why we at World2fly have joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program to encourage inclusion, acceptance and understanding of these circumstances, making your travel as accessible and seamless as possible.
At World2fly we recognise the sunflower badge and want to make your trip as pleasant as possible. Thanks to this badge, our airport staff can provide a little extra support or consideration while you travel. Plus, you're letting everyone know that you might need extra help, understanding or simply more time.
Sunflower cords and products are available at our offices at T4 of the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport and at HD Sunflower.
If before traveling, you want to inform us that you have a non-visible disability, you can do so in the same way as you would request assistance (during booking, during online check-in or by calling our assistance team). This only informs us that you have a non-visible disability and does not arrange for any assistance unless you specifically request it at [email protected]
Feel free to visit HD Sunflower to learn more about this program.
At World2Fly, we reaffirm our commitment to accessibility and safety for all our passengers by making Braille safety cards available on board. These cards are designed to provide clear and understandable information for blind and visually impaired passengers, ensuring that all passengers can access safety instructions independently.
The Braille safety card shall be handed out at the end of the safety briefing by the crew. If you have not received it, you may ask the cabin crew for it at any time.
Please contact us by filling in the following form, but keep in mind that we can only process your request if you do it up to 72 hours before the departure of your flight.
