UMs and children travelling alone

UM

UM stands for unaccompanied minor. At World2Fly, we accept UMs from ages 5 to 11. For this age group, it is mandatory to hire the unaccompanied minor service. Find out about the requirements to sign up for this service by contacting us through the following form. Please keep in mind that we can only process your request if you do it up to 3 business days before flight departure.

Young people service (YP)

In addition to offering the UM service, you can also book the same service for children from ages 12 to 17, for your peace of mind. All travel requirements

We also inform you that it is essential to be aware the requirements for minors, UM (unaccompanied minor) or accompanied minors by third parties other than one of their parents or guardian, to travel.

Spanish authorities require a travel permit formalised in one of the following dependencies: Police, Civil Guard, Notaries, and/or Town Hall, which may be obtained at the request of one of the parents or legal guardians.

In order to leave Portugal, minors who do not travel in the company of the person exercising parental authority must present a legally certified authorization at the customs office, granted by the latter or by the person representing them.

In the case of foreign minors residing in Spain or Portugal, their legal representatives must resort to their consular authorities to complete the necessary documentation, in accordance with their national legislation.
